Two and a half year old Ying Hao was born with epidermolysis bullosa (“EB”). Little Hao is a “butterfly child”, with skin that blisters, tears or sloughs off at the slightest touch. His family has a very limited income and previously received no training or assistance in dealing with his wounds.
In August 2016, we started helping little Hao by providing specialized wound care dressings and medications as well as Pediasure to ensure he gets the nutrition he needs to stay healthy. We are also supporting his parents with training in how to prevent additional wounds whenever possible, and how to deal with the ones that cannot be prevented. His parents are interested in learning more about bone marrow transplant treatment and we will help them fundraise for that very large expense if it turns out that Hao is a candidate for that treatment option.
